Vows
Alternative to Boasts.
At rest, characters may swear themselves to codes of conduct, beginning with at least one tenet.
Each tenet gives either +1HD or +1AB.
Further tenets can be complicated onto a current Vow given time.
If a character breaks any tenet of a sworn Vow, they immediately lose all benefits of that Vow, and may never take it again.
The complication of any Vows they make in future are also limited, and cannot equal what they had previously.
Examples include many codes of chivalry or philosophy, the Cosa Nostra, and the pledge of allegiance.
Had these in mind for more contemplative or character-focused games. Rewards continuity with increased ability.
